John Murray is Professor of Business Studies at the School of Business, Trinity College, University of Dublin. He is a Fellow of the College. He has also served as Senior Lecturer (Chief Officer for Academic Affairs for the College) and as Head of School. He works in the fields of strategy, organisational renewal and public sector management and teaches at Trinity and at business schools in Europe, Asia and America.

Educated at University College Dublin, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management. He has been Lecturer at University College Dublin, Professor at IMD Switzerland, Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto and Daiichi-Kikaku Visiting Professor at Keio University, Japan and Visiting Scholar at the Wharton and Harvard Business Schools and at Senshu University, Japan.

He has been Chairman of the Institute of Public Administration & President of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, on the Board of the Health Services Executive & a member of the Civil Service Performance Verification Group.

He has worked on management development and research with many European, American and Japanese organisations. He has published numerous books and articles

In between teaching commitments, researching, travelling and talking he rebuilds old cars, competes in historic rallying, listens to jazz and reads fiction.
